For your safety, all customers are required to wear protective face coverings. Masks with an exhalation valve, bandanas, and scarves, have been deemed ineffective in the protection against the virus, according to requirements outlined by Transport Canada. As such, they no longer qualify as acceptable face coverings when traveling with us.

What are the authorized types of masks?
The French government has made the wearing of a surgical mask or a filtering facepiece mask (FFP1, FFP2 or FFP3) mandatory on board flights (decree n° 2020-663 dated 31 May 2020). It is strongly recommended to wear one upon arrival at the airport.
Even though the quality standard of the air ventilation equipment used renders the risk of viruses and microbes spreading impossible, physical distancing on board aircraft is not always possible and wearing a mask, combined with respecting the basic hygiene rules, is an effective protection.
What are the differences between a surgical mask and a universal mask?
A surgical mask filters at least 95% of particles as small as 3 microns in size, and serves a dual purpose - it obviously filters particles emitted by the mask wearer, but according to the French National Research and Safety Institute, it also protects the person wearing the mask against droplets emitted by a person facing them. The surgical mask both filters inhaled and expired air.

Children under the age of two are exempt from this requirement. Masks or face coverings must not have any vents or openings, and a face shield will not qualify as a face covering due to this requirement. Beginning September 14, 2020, face shields must be worn with a mask or other appropriate covering underneath. We are all in this together, so lets each do our part to keep our community safe.
